Meet Our Team

Nicholas Astore, CEO, LADAC 

Nickie Manier, LADAC II

Nick Astore is a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor. He is currently continuing his education in Clinical Social Work. He is the primary counselor for Alcohol and Drug abuse Services at Franklin Recovery Center.

 

Nick has extensive experience in Dual Diagnosis Treatment. He has served as a primary counselor, program coordinator, and director at multiple facilities including Freeman Recovery Center, Educare, and Mirror Lake Recovery Center. He specializes in substance abuse services. He is trained in several therapeutic modalities including Motivational Enhancement, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care.

Nick has a compassionate understanding towards the process of working through one's painful experiences in order to change problematic ways of coping.

Nickie Manier is a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor Level II. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Mental Health Services and Special Education.

 

Nickie has extensive experience working with individuals suffering from substance use issues. She has held multiple clinical positions at Recovery Unplugged and is one of the primary therapists at Franklin Recovery Center. She has a passion for working alongside individuals suffering from substance related difficulties. Nickie’s compassion, understanding, and empathy for others has been a great asset to others seeking guidance in the change process.

Ken Garber, LADAC II

Ken Garber is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselor (LADAC II) with eighteen years of experience in the addiction recovery field. Ken has experience providing counseling services, IOP facilitation, assessment, and life recovery skills to people of all ages. Ken specializes in helping people get to the root of their substance addiction. He provides creative, engaging, and memorable prevention group facilitation to individuals participating in treatment and providing education to their families. He is skilled in anger and denial management, relapse prevention, trauma informed care, crisis intervention, Veteran suicide prevention, dual diagnosis treatment, and mental health coaching.

 

Ken is also a founding member of the Veterans Suicide Prevention Coalition in Warren County, Ohio. Ken and his wife are proud parents of a Marine Corps Combat Veteran, who served eight years and deployed three times. Because of their love for our Veterans, they founded LifeWorks USA Inc., a nonprofit organization helping Veterans in the judicial system within the State of Ohio create their “Plan For Life” as their military mission ends and they return to civilian life with their pride and dignity intact.
